Animals on campus

One of my classes ended early on one of the days, so I had two hours before my next lecture. Decided to explore more of the campus grounds around the lake. And also a collection of animal photos that I took throughout my time at UQ.

UQ Lakes:

I don't know why so many people propose to have events at the UQ Lakes. I wouldn't like to hang around there. It doesn't smell very pleasant. Not that it's littered, but it stinks of decaying vegetation and lots of bird poo.

I know it's hard to see, but the whole tree is filled with white birds sitting on the branches.Try looking at the branches on the left side of the tree, where you don't get the white patches of sky behind. Those are the birds. I'll try to take a closer picture next time, but they fly off when anyone walks near. And so the sky is filled with pretty, white birds and their pretty smelly guano.

And then there's this guy:

And tons of ducks too, both brown and large white ones:

This family had wandered pretty far from the lakes. They were outside the Art Museum (on campus), hence the smiley tombstone.

A dirty, unused fountain that birds like to dip in and drink from:

There are lots of ravens (or crows, I can't tell the difference), around Brisbane too. I don't like them much for some reason.. They're a bunch of evil looking birds with very sleek and shiny feathers.

Near the UQ Lakes. I love the trees. The pictures would look nicer without the bottom quarter, but I'm too lazy to crop so just use your imagination.
