Went into the city this morning on my own because I wanted to get my bearings there. The last couple of times I was there with company, I wasn't used to so many buildings and stores and people, and so didn't watch where I was going. Walked a bit of the morning and the whole of the afternoon. Am falling asleep as I write this post!
While waiting for the bus that never showed up. I was there pretty early, so I don't think it came before me. Anyhow, I walked back up the hill to the train station. The weather for the whole day was pretty much like this. I think I am two-toned brown now. Chaw-ta liao (burnt already).
With the help of Google Map, I made my way slowly towards the city centre. Had a quick lunch at one of the many food courts around.
Cooled down with a large cup of Boost's Green Tea Mango Mantra (yogurt + fruit). Peel the banana's butt for a surprise. Kinky.
And sushi rolls, Chicken Teriyaki + Tuna Salad:
Some photos of the city:
Brisbane City Hall:
Found Officeworks by accident!
It's like a big warehouse for stationery! There were even two levels. I spent, like, over 30mins here but only bought one pen and a small roll of cellotape haha
Along Queen St, a drummer:
There was also a man doing card tricks, and another making balloon animals. I should have taken a picture. He made ladybirds, poodles, giraffes, flowers, etc.
I didn't manage to explore even half of the city centre properly, and I certainly won't be able to find most of the stores again unless it's by chance. At least I know where some of the bus and train stops are now.
While waiting for my bus, a group of protesters passed. There were a few police cars and bikes cruising alongside, keeping watch.
It was a really really great day and I totally enjoyed wandering around and exploring the city at my own pace. Bought a few things (of course, of course).
A cheap AUD5 necklace:
Goodnight!
Wish me luck and send me love <3
